Got this forwarded from the vast circulating Email fodder going around the internet. Makes sense.
“This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.

Newt’s got it right! Can you believe the proponents of the stimulus bill want to spend (mortgage) more than we’ve paid for the wars over the past 7 years? Their proposal is worse than our present economic situation.

Picture this, if we mortgage our future taking on a debt that we can’t pay we will reach an impossible situation. On that has happened to other countries around the globe. Our government on behalf of our nation will have to take drastic action to make it up the debt to our creditors like seizing assets and nationalizing private enterprise. (New Bolshevik Revolution anyone?) Our nation would then go into the worst depression we’ve ever seen. Our nation would be socialized, and you and I will not be free to buy and sell and enjoy as we do now. No more life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as defined in out Constitution. Life will be rationed, regulated, and controlled. Perhaps this is just what they want. Perhaps it’s the Dems end-game. The lender of the world banks will be in charge, and the governments will broker the power – OUR power – to them.
The things they are spending on are not things that will stimulate the economy for the long-term. They are spending billions on hand-out programs and hand-out jobs on which people will become dependent rather than depending on innovation and the work of their own hands. This is not a stimulus package, it’s a socialism conversion act.
I’ll tell you this, if hope and change means mortgaging our future to crushing debt, I’ll take my chances with unmoving pessimism and survive just fine thanks. Take heart folks, the economic situation is not just a US phenomenon, it’s a global event. And the consumers – that is – we the people of the world will turn it around, not governments mortgaging our lives to the world banks.
